The Original Aesthetics (OA) is an art and craft training center for kids aged between 4-12 years old. I took the design mission from this old training center running this business for over 20 years and hoping to elevate their branding and interior design. After research, I helped them to relocate their place at a two floor old office building with over 1000 square meters in order to get more chances of exposure to the pedestrians. I designed the whole space with white walls, arch based geometries, new functional spaces etc. Now there is a reception area, a kid reading space, an exhibition space and a craft studio on the first floor, and there are classrooms for drawing, painting, calligraphy for the second floor. I also helped to design the brand and some marketing strategies along with some other experienced experts. Building a tighter community of kids and parents who love art and craft was my design goal. By using white, installing big windows and filling the space with as much plants as possible, I am trying to invite more light and nature into the space given the fact that all the windows here are facing north with poor lighting. On the other hand I also expanded the varieties of their course types from just painting and drawing to a more systematic course set with a much clearer training purpose on each stage based on ages and genre. After 3 months of its re-opening, the market response was surprisingly positive among both existing leaners and new customers.
